Aside from being a gathering of family and loved ones for both Chris and Karla, it's also a psuedo summit for all of us who have all worked together in the animation biz. It's a chance to get caught up and enjoy fine company as well as food and drink. It a scene reminiscent of "The Godfather" except we're animation artists instead of mobsters.
In attendance are some the most talented bunch working in animation today on shows like Avatar, The Fairly Oddparents, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Invader Zim, Danny Phantom, Kim Possible, American Dragon, Tutenstein, Teenage Robot, etc.. All in all these guys are members of my extended family. And yes, they are all quite insane i'm afraid....
So now for the incriminating evidence, the photos!
That's Chris Graham on the left inspecting this odd, ring shaped thing that he found on his left hand... Looking from left to right are comic creator and artist Rafael Navarro (Sonambulo), Chris' best man Shawn "Calves" Murray (Invader Zim, Family Guy) and creator/director John Fountain. That's Julie in the foreground as well.
Why is this man smiling? Could be the martinis kicking in. Story artist Ian Graham of Avatar flanked by his lovely wife Linda. Though not related, Chris and Ian were credited on Invader Zim as "The Graham Brothers".
Yet another group shot. From left to right: Rafael Navarro, the groom, Shawn Murray, yours truly, story artist Rudi Berden (Wild Thornberries) and John Fountain (Seated)Not pictured but undoubtedly worthy of mention are story artist Ira Sherak (The Simpsons, Futurama), film editor Peter Tomascewicz, story and comic artist Rob Gooden (Wild Thornberries, Duckman), designer, actor and filmmaker Keith Wong (Rugrats, Curious George), designer Bob Dever (Rugrats, Wild Thornberries) Former production coordinator and entrepreneur Chrystian Dulac.

Does John Fountain have a blog? I'd be interested in reading it out of morbid curiosity.
