It's sad but more and more of my childhood icons are slowly dying off. There was Dom and now David Carradine has passed away at the age of 72 in Thailand. Star of the classic TV show Kung Fu and of course Kill Bill, he was predominantly known for roles in campy flicks and B movies but what's lost in it all is that he was a very good, underrated actor.
Now he'll be snatching grasshoppers from people's hands in that great big dojo in the sky. May he rest in peace.

this came as a shock to me, after years of kung fu the legend continues i guess i kind of thought of him as invincible
Reports are that he hung himself in his hotel room in Bangkok. This is kind of intriguing because he was there shooting a movie. What drove him to end his own life is still a mystery.
The middle act of his career was a vague limbo bookended by two really memorable characters: Kwai Chang Caine and Bill.
He was never an A-lister but he delivered the goods everytime.
those details, I'm sure will become more clear within this week or the next. suicide is hard to believe, especially since he seemed to be relatively successful (then again, so was Richard Jeni...).
MAN that sucks! RIP Carradine.
